Who is Muslim?
Muslims are people who follow Islam. Anybody who put forward their will to
the one and only true "Allah," who is deserving of worship, is a Muslim.
Muslims practice monotheism and adore a single, all-knowing God who is
referred to in Arabic as Allah. Muslims hold the belief that Allah's law was
imparted by a number of Prophets. A Muslim also holds the belief that the
Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) is the last prophet of Allah. According to
teachings of Islam, angel Gabriel revealed Allah's word to the last Prophet
Muhammad (S.A.W). Obedience to Allah's commands is the path to peace for a
Muslim who submits to him and worships Allah. The natural outcome of
submitting to Allah's will is peace. Muslims hold their religious services
in mosques.
To accept Islam as their religion and become a Muslim, a person must
believe and say the following :
LA ILAHA ILLALLAH, MUHAMMADAR RASULULLAH,
This phrase literally translates to "There is no God except Allah and
Muhammad (S.A.W) is His last messenger." Except Allah there is no one
deserving of worship, and Muhammad is His messenger" is another meaning of
the sentence. A person becomes a Muslim as soon as they say this phrase and
begin to act on it.
Who is Allah?
In the Holy Quran it is mentioned numerous times, God Almighty has given Himself the name Allah. Allah is referred as the Lord of the whole world by Qur’an he has no personalized names, other than is 99 traditional names.
Say: He is the one; Allah, the Eternal; He did not (give birth) and He was not (given birth to); and there will never ever anyone equal to Him. (Chapter 112, Verses 1 - 4 of the Qur’an)
Allah has no partners in divinity is the belief of Muslims, including that he have no son, and that in this universe nothing equal to His glory. Muslims hold the belief that Allah is only the creator and maintainer of this universe, as well as that he originated human beings to solely worship Him. Allah is only the lord of the Day of Judgment, when the believers of Islam will be dispatched for their rewards in heaven, and the unbelievers, will be sent to hellfire. To worship anyone other than Allah, is considered a grave sin. Good will in this world and the paradise in the next world are the award of worshiping Him alone and walking in his way.
Truly, Allah will acknowledge those who believe and carry out good actions to Gardens in Paradise beneath rivers, where they will be adorned with gold and pearl bracelets and dressed in silk. (Chapter 22, Verse 23 of the Qur'an)
